Bio/About

Even after 30 years in the business, I still get excited about every new casting job. I love to think outside the box. I get a kick out of visiting small town festivals to find unique faces. I love hanging out at bowling alleys on league night to find the perfect beer-drinking guy next door. I approach every job - large or small - with the same enthusiasm, commitment and attention to detail.

I began my career as a talent agent at the Eleanor Moore Agency (now Moore Creative) in Minneapolis. I went on to explore different aspects of the business, doing everything from producing and location scouting to becoming the talent coordinator for the Dayton Hudson Corporation (now Macy’s).

In the mid 80's I took a year off, and traveled throughout Southeast Asia working as a travel photojournalist for national magazines and newspapers. When I returned home, I founded Akerlind Steele Casting in Minneapolis, a full service company serving national, regional and local clients. Since then I've morphed my business into Steele Casting. I've had the good fortune to cast talent for feature films, industrial films, made-for-television movies, commercials, talent searches and print advertising.

My clients value my versatility and passion for real people casting. Whether it’s hula hoopers with Swedish accents, 6'8" Templar Knights, Hispanic bagpipers or accordion players with bad comb-overs, my goal is to provide my clients with a wealth of options to choose from.

I feel so fortunate doing what I love to do. I take great pride in my services and truly enjoy the process.
